Privacy Policy

1) What we do

We transform your photos into anime-style images. To run the service, we process your data as described below.

2) Data we collect

• Account data: email, password (stored as a secure one-way hash, never in plain text), display name or settings you provide.
• Content: photos you upload ("Uploads") and images we generate for you ("Outputs").
• Usage & device data: IP address, device/browser info, events (sign-in, transform, errors), approximate location from IP (for fraud/security), and basic analytics to improve performance.
• Payments: purchase details (amount, status, timestamps) processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card numbers.

3) How we use data

• Provide the service: process uploads, generate outputs, display your gallery, and provide support.
• Security & abuse prevention: detect fraud, prevent multi-account abuse of free trials, rate-limit, and protect accounts.
• Communications: service emails about your account, purchases, and policy updates; marketing emails only with your consent (opt-in; you can opt out anytime).
• Improve the service: troubleshoot, performance tuning, feature development.
• Legal compliance: accounting, tax, and responding to lawful requests.

4) Legal bases (EU/UK GDPR)

• Contract: to provide the service you request.
• Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, analytics for service improvement.
• Consent: marketing emails; any optional model training on your images.
• Legal obligations: tax/accounting; responding to lawful requests.

5) Sharing your data

We share data only with service providers who help us run animephoto.ai (e.g., cloud hosting/storage/CDN, email delivery, analytics, AI model providers, and Stripe for payments). These companies act on our instructions under contract and must protect your data.

We may also share data to comply with the law, defend legal claims, prevent fraud, or protect users.

6) International transfers

Your data may be stored and processed in the United States and other countries. For EU/UK users, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the UK IDTA, plus technical and organizational safeguards.

7) Retention & deletion

• Gallery content: We keep your photos and outputs until you delete them or your account becomes inactive (no purchases or credit use in the last 90 days). If inactive, we may delete your content from active systems after a reasonable period.
• Backups & logs: Persist for limited periods, then are overwritten or deleted.
• Records: Minimal transactional data may be retained for fraud prevention, accounting, and legal obligations.
• Your control: You can delete items in your gallery or delete your account; we then remove associated content from active systems within a reasonable period.

8) Security

We use safeguards including encryption in transit, strong access controls, monitoring, and least-privilege practices. Passwords are securely hashed (one-way); we never store your actual password. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

9) Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies and limited analytics to operate and improve the service. Where required (e.g., EU/UK), we show a consent banner and honor your choices. You can change preferences any time.

10) Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, and data portability, and to withdraw consent (for marketing or optional training).

To exercise your rights, email support@animephoto.ai. You can also complain to your local authority (e.g., the ICO in the UK).

11) Children

The service is not for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect children's data.

12) Changes to this Policy

We will post updates here and revise the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we'll notify you (e.g., email or in-app).
